FEBRUARY 22, 2019 - Pioneer, your local broadband provider is proud to announce a $52 million-dollar investment in Newcastle and Blanchard communities. Since 2004, Pioneer has been building its fiber-optic network and currently serves 53% of the Newcastle exchange with high-speed fiber-optic Internet. Newcastle, currently #4 on the list of fastest growing cities in Oklahoma, and Blanchard #11, will need an experienced broadband company to help build the future. In 24 short months, Newcastle and Blanchard will be 100% GIG-Certified communities!
The current facilities and infrastructure will remain in place, as Pioneer continues extending its existing fiber-optic network throughout neighborhoods including Stonebrook, Remington Place, Whippoorwill, Richland Park and The Oaks, in Newcastle. Residents in Bradford, Carr and Kings Place additions, are already experiencing the benefits of this fiber commitment.
Over the past several years, when new technology was released, Pioneer implemented a fiber-to-the-node strategy and installed over 100 fiber-fed remote cabinets, known as DIPs (Digital Insertion Points), to increase the broadband speed to many locations in Newcastle. The increased demand for broadband products and services shows “the need for speed” is not slowing down.
“Pioneer’s Management team and Board of Trustees made another commitment by approving a $52 million-dollar investment in a complete fiber-optic overbuild project, to be completed in 24-months for all residents and businesses served in the Newcastle and Blanchard exchanges”, said Richard Ruhl, General Manager. “The fiber technology will provide our cooperative members in these exchanges, with the best connection available and simplify their internet options. Pioneer continues “Taking you Forward” by providing the latest technology with unlimited possibilities of fiber-optic Internet.”
Pioneer offers affordable fiber-optic high-speed Internet to both residential and business customers for the same price and the same speeds, while enhancing the users experience by providing symmetrical download and upload speeds. With the increase in IoT (Internet of Things) devices, Pioneer realizes upload speeds are just as important as download speeds.
Since 1953, Pioneer has been a reliable provider of products and services in Newcastle. With a local office, experienced local technicians on-site and a trained Call Center, Pioneer understands the importance of providing the best customer experience possible.
