PIONEER OBSERVING NATIONAL COOPERATIVE MONTH WITH ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE TO BENEFIT LOCAL PANTRIES

SEPTEMBER 26, 2018-In conjunction with National Cooperative Month observed each October, Pioneer Telephone Cooperative and Pioneer Cellular will host a community food drive from October 1-31.

 

The food drive themed “Cooperatives-See the Future”, will help restock the shelves of local food pantries throughout Pioneer’s service area(s). Those donating food items may also register to win a $100 credit towards a Pioneer Telephone or Pioneer Cellular account.

 

According to the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank, Oklahoma is one of the hungriest states in the nation, with one in four children struggling with hunger and more than 656,000 of our neighbors at risk of going hungry every day.

 

Some suggested food items include peanut butter, jelly, pasta, spaghetti sauce, canned fruits and vegetables, macaroni and cheese, canned meats, canned tuna, powdered milk, baby food, sugar, flour, canned juices, rice and beans.

 

Those wishing to donate may drop off non-perishable food items at any Pioneer Telephone or Pioneer Cellular business office/retail location. For more
