Scholarships
The 2026 – 2027 Pioneer scholarship applications are now available.
The Pioneer Telephone Board of Trustees and the Scholarship Committee are pleased to announce that the 2026 – 2027 applications are now available. Over 374 scholarships totaling over $1,145,927.27 have been awarded since the inception of the program 35 years ago in 1991.

Scholarship Programs
College Scholarship Program
Offered to qualified applicants of all Junior/Senior college-level university majors, with priority consideration given to education majors in math, science, computer science, and foreign language. Pioneer proposes to award one college scholarship per Board District per year. Each award provides $1,000 per semester, up to a maximum of $2,000 per year.
Technology Center Scholarship Program
Offered to qualified applicants who are a subscriber of Pioneer Telephone Cooperative, Inc., or the son, daughter, or legal dependent of a subscriber. Each award provides $1,000 toward the cost of one program at a Technology Center within Pioneer's service area.
Who is a subscriber?
A subscriber is defined as a member of the Cooperative who receives their “landline” telephone service from the Cooperative, or subscribes to a residential retail landline stand-alone Digital Subscriber Line Service (DSL). Having service from Pioneer by virtue of internet, long distance, or business solutions does not meet the requirements for consideration — those services are provided by Pioneer’s subsidiaries, not the Cooperative itself.
